Dear Hiring Manager:

This letter is to express my interest in the Editorial Assistant Rotational Program position. I believe that my experience will make me a competitive candidate for this position. Please see my attached resume for additional information.

I love words. I consider myself an avid reader, reading daily and finishing most books in a few days. I was drawn to your job opening and excited about the opportunity to explore the various areas of your business offered in the rotational program. Book of the Month's efforts to expose new team members to multiple areas of the business and assess their strengths are impressive. I see the value in placing them where they and the company can most benefit and thrive. You state that your mission is to bring the best new fiction forward. As a member of Book of the Month, I can attest to that. I have been introduced to many new authors through this subscription.

I left my previous position to care for a parent, who has since passed. After this transition, I made the decision to pursue other interests, and I returned to college seeking a second degree in English with a technical writing focus. This was driven in part by a lifelong love of literature, and an interest in contemporary fiction. I want to pursue an editorial career to assist authors to refine their work for others to enjoy reading.

My work experience required me to learn and grow over time as the organization grew. Managing multiple departments and projects it was imperative that I exercised strong time management and organization skills. I was expected to exercise discretion and good judgment daily. I am eager to apply these skills in your organization.

Given my related experience and excellent capabilities, I can bring a depth of knowledge to this position but remain eager to learn. You will find me to be well-spoken, energetic, personable, and dependable. I am confident that I will provide value to you and your company as a member of your team.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I am excited about this opportunity and look forward to speaking with you further about the chance to be a part of Book of the Month's editorial team.

Sincerely,

Barbara L. Gunter
